Our Current Projects

 Our agriculture project involves cultivating, producing, and processing food. We have secured 450 hectares of arable land where we aim to plant corn, beans, and cassava. These crops are essential staples that can significantly contribute to food security in the region.  Cassava and corn are both important food crops that provide calories and carbohydrates. 

  We provide extensive training programs for local farmers, covering modern agricultural techniques, sustainable farming practices, and food processing methods. Our goal is to equip farmers with the skills they need to maximize their yield and maintain high-quality produce. 

  Our mini-industrial maize flour mill and food processing facility is currently under construction in Luwhindja, a village in the northern part of South Kivu Province. 

This initiative is part of our broader focus on rural development, aimed at enhancing food security, stimulating economic growth, and generating employment opportunities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. 

By addressing high food prices and local food insecurity, this project plays a vital role in building sustainable, community-based solutions. 

 Our pig farming project is a crucial component of FAB's food production and processing program. This initiative not only provides high-quality meat but also valuable by-products such as manure and bristles. Pigs are highly efficient in converting feed into protein, making pork a major source of nutrition for people globally.

 We aim to produce both fresh pork and a variety of sausages, ensuring a diverse and nutritious supply of protein-rich products for the community. 

In addition, FAB produces fertilizer, enriching the soil and enhancing crop yields. This contributes to sustainable agricultural practices and improved food production. 

 Only 16% of the DRC population has electricity, with rural areas facing lower rates. Our program aims to electrify villages through hydroelectric dams, crucial for rural development, agriculture, and economic growth.

FAB recognizes the importance of electricity for both agricultural and village development. Our hydroelectric dams can significantly increase energy availability, enhancing rural quality of life and stimulating economic activities like small businesses and agricultural processing.

Hydropower reduces reliance on biomass fuels, decreasing deforestation and improving air quality. Building dams can also spur other infrastructure projects, integrating rural areas into the national economy.

 Despite the Democratic Republic of the Congo's abundant water resources, access to clean drinking water remains limited due to inadequate infrastructure. Currently, only 52% of the population has access to an improved water source. Enhancing water supply systems can significantly transform agriculture and rural communities, thereby improving food security, health, and overall development. Our project is dedicated to providing water to local villagers in the DRC. 

 Improved roads and bridges enhance the efficiency of transporting agricultural produce to markets, reduce transportation costs and minimizing post-harvest losses. Additionally, robust infrastructure supports the delivery of essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and equipment. Enhanced transportation networks also stimulate economic activities by connecting rural areas to urban centers, thereby increasing trade opportunities and creating employment.
